Is there hope for every men?

Yesterday, I happened upon a new Casting Crown song I haven't heard while driving to a doctor's appointment. My head was filled with thoughts for my friend who called me to pray. She was on her way to an ultrasound, scared of the bleeding that met her in the morning. You see, she's three months pregnant with her second. I didn't know what to say to her other than how sorry I was for what she's going through. All I knew was I wanted to be real with her and not say things that may hurt her. So, I refused to say pat answers I would've said before. I know too well that when I say "Oh, please don't cry" is more about me than the person who is crying. I didn't want to sound like that. So I drove on feeling useless, sad, and pathetic, confessing my feelings and thoughts to the One who understands, pleading, hoping, listening. And there it was.

The chorus goes:
Is there hope for every man?
A solid place where we can stand,
In this dry and weary land
Is there hope for every man?
Is there love that never dies?
Is there peace in troubled times?
Someone please help me understand,
is there hope for every man?

For those of us that know Him, our precious Jesus, we answer to this with a resounding "YES"! When all is stripped away, we know by experience this Solid Rock, the person who is always with us knows us intimately. He is the Hope, Peace and Love. When life throws us the curve ball and comes crushing down on us, we know that He stands unchanged so that we can stand. What a gift we have.

This song brought perspective to me in the midst of feeling helpless. Because I know He is in control, and I know He loves her way more than I do, I could leave her and her situation in His capable hands.
